This is a bargain.* This is a true piece of Gibson history, a stunning introductory year model of the acoustic guitar made famous by the Beatles and in particular John Lennon. This one is 100% original including the electrics and P90 pick up. 1954 is the only year the J160e came with a solid top & 19 frets. This has the cosmetic wear and tear you would expect but is completely sound structurally and carries that cool vintage vibe & robust tone. Tons of fun to play & hard to put down especially when jamming to some of your favourite Beatles tunes. Neck: Medium profile mahogany neck with nicely aged cream binding & tortoise side dots. Beautiful Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl trapezoid inlays. Original frets show some wear, but have plenty of life in them. Body: Round shoulder dreadnought with solid spruce top & 3-ply binding. The sunburst finish has aged & mellowed wonderfully over the years & gives the guitar a softness you only find in true vintage acoustics. Rosewood belly bridge with large pearloid dots & cream end pins. 3-ply rosette & original tortoise pickguard. Mahogany sides & back with single-ply binding. Comes with Non Original hard case. I may consider trade or Px depending on what's on offer. One of these is currently for sale in the States for $6995 (£5246) so this is a very good cash price. Interested in a 59 RI les paul but will consider other trade offers with the trade value being closer to the £5k.
